This Privacy Policy explains how Carrington Creative Studios, LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use carrington.cool (the "Service"). We are the controller of your personal information for this Service.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us. When you subscribe, comment, or contact us, we collect your email address and any name or details you provide.
Payment information. If you buy a paid membership, payment, receipt, and subscription information is processed by Stripe, Inc. ("Stripe"), our payment processor. We do not store full card numbers. Stripe processes card and payment data as a processor on our behalf, and may act as an independent controller for certain payment and fraud-prevention purposes under Stripe's own privacy policy.
Information collected automatically. When you visit, we and our providers may collect limited log and device data such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referring page, and timestamps for security, operations, and aggregate analytics.
Analytics. We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused, cookieless analytics tool, to understand how the Service is used in aggregate. Plausible does not set cookies, does not track you across sites, and does not collect personally identifying information.
2. How we use your information
We use information to:
- deliver the Service, newsletters, and any membership you sign up for
- process payments and manage subscriptions
- respond to your messages and provide support
- understand usage and improve the Service
- keep the Service secure and prevent abuse
- comply with legal obligations
3. Legal bases
Where the GDPR applies, we process your information based on: your consent (for marketing email), performance of a contract (to provide memberships you buy), our legitimate interests (to run and secure the Service), and compliance with legal obligations.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf, including:
- our website and membership platform (Ghost)
- our email delivery provider, to send newsletters and account email
- Stripe, our payment processor, to process payments
- our hosting and infrastructure providers
- our analytics provider (Plausible)
We may also disclose information to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect our rights, and in connection with a business transfer.
5. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies for essential functions, preferences, and payments. We do not use analytics cookies; Plausible Analytics is cookieless. See our Cookie Policy.
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your subscription is active and as needed to provide the Service, then for as long as necessary to meet legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. You can ask us to delete your information as described below.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. If you are in the EEA/UK or California (CCPA/CPRA), you have these and related rights, including the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising them. To make a request, email hello@carrington.cool. You can unsubscribe from marketing email at any time using the link in any email.
We will respond to verified privacy requests within the time required by applicable law. If we deny a request, we will explain why where required. You may use an authorized agent where applicable law allows. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If that changes, we will update this policy and provide any required "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" mechanism.
8. International transfers
We may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
9. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Third-party sites and products
The Service links to other sites and to separate products, projects, and companies (including Kill the Body, SupaDupa, CoffeeBadger, and City of Consequences). Those have their own privacy policies, and this policy does not cover them.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy and will revise the "Last updated" date. Material changes take effect when posted.
